Modus vivendi focuses on an aspect of life that remains constant regardless of the historical period, namely the concomitant presence of Good and Evil.
Renaissance dance expresses elegance, beauty, joy, and optimism, reflecting the historical period in which it was born. But in the Renaissance, just like in any other historical period, the souls of men and women were (and are) also tainted with sin. Starting from this idea, the performance presents, in period costumes, seven Renaissance dances and the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, sloth, gluttony. On another plane of existence, in a different dimension, the continuous confrontation between Good and Evil takes place, mostly in a humorous manner. The outcome of the struggle between the two symbolic characters is mirrored in the people’s behavior…
The performance was presented in Cluj-Napoca on February 2, 2012 (at the János Zsigmond Unitarian Boarding School) and on February 25, 2012.
